Love,
How It All Went Down
Naomi was born on Sept. 1st in Boston. Kicking and screaming, Paul came into the world 24 days later in the same city. Naomi grew up in Randolph and knew from an early age that she loved art. In preschool, she showed this love by drawing on construction paper, and then eating it. Meanwhile, Paul was attending Catholic school and becoming an altar boy, joining the choir (his love of singing continues to this day, mostly in the car).
In high school, Paul excelled at math, a subject that would later come in handy for his chosen career. He was also highly regarded as his school's team captain and all-around tennis superstar. Many perks enjoyed at this time included leaving class early and attention from the ladies (of the junior varsity variety). It was during this era that the name Paul "The Snake" came into use (still of unknown origins).
Naomi continued pursuing art throughout high school, but also had dreams of becoming an author or Egyptologist some day. She was online one day, browsing a social networking site, and came across Paul's profile. "Who is this interesting guy?" she thought. "And can he teach me how to play tennis?" She sent him a message, and soon they were chatting. They talked about everything from movies to politics. Hours of messaging and talking on the phone lead to an eventual meeting.
Naomi and her friend Emily were in driving school the day she met Paul. Of course, it was hard to pay attention in class when she knew that Paul would be waiting outside. They left class, and saw him waiting across the street. Naomi's first thoughts were that he was really dark (Has this dude ever heard of sunscreen?) and that his eyes were very intense. Paul's first impressions were that she was a really tall Asian, and that her hair was very long (I wonder how it would feel running my fingers through it?). The group went to see Shrek at the now-defunct shoebox of a movie theatre in Quincy Center. Before the movie, they were having a passionate discussion about the movie posters hanging around. They were smitten with each other. The evening ended with a nice Goodnight, hugs all around, and promises to call.
And call he did.
On July 8, 2001, Paul asked Naomi out. He made certain to clarify that she knew the difference between dating ("Dating is just dating.") and going out ("It's being boyfriend and girlfriend."). Paul found out the differences the hard way. She said yes to the latter, and soon, they were happily calling each other honey bunny and baby (so sappy).
College decisions rolled around for Naomi, and she decided to take on the Big Apple, much to Paul's sadness. School of Visual Arts was calling to her, along with all the art galleries and museums of NYC, and soon, graduation arrived, and shortly thereafter, the move to the girl's dorm in Manhattan. It was an emotional day as Paul helped her unpack and waved goodbye. They decided to try an LDR (long-distance relationship).
Paul was still finishing up his last year of high school, and Naomi came home every weekend to see him achieve this. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and in this case, this was extremely true. Their relationship continued to grow and become stronger that year. Paul even drove to New York to surprise Naomi for Valentine's day, and ended up getting pulled over for speeding. Luckily, he told a lovely little story about his anticipation in seeing his girlfriend, and got off easily. That day, Naomi also came home to Boston to another surprise. Paul had gotten her a brown bunny (fulfilling the title of honey bunny).
Mister Rabbit, as he came to be known, was Naomi's constant tv companion when she came back to Boston the following year. She started attending Massachusetts College of Art + Design, and Paul also started attending Bryant University to study Business the same year.
After completing college, Naomi and Paul took their first flight together to Disney World, Florida. There, she helped him overcome his fear of roller coasters, and they went on Mount Everest together (he clutched her hand the entire time). Other vacation destinations in the following years included Montreal, the U.S. Open in New York, MINIs On Top at Mt. Washington (a MINI gathering), Las Vegas (what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas), and Philly (Wiz wit, please!).
Last year, Paul and Naomi went to London and Paris. They visited all the tourist attractions including the Thames River, Westminster Abbey, and Notre Dame Cathedral. One day, Paul took Naomi to view the Eiffel Tower across the Champs-Elysses. The sun was setting and illuminated everything beautifully. The tower was reflected in the river and Paul thought, This is the right moment. He asked a fellow bystander to snap some shots of the both of them. After a few shots, Paul got into position, on bended knee, and asked Naomi to marry him. She jumped back in surprise, with tears in her eyes, and exclaimed with joy, Yes! Meanwhile, the bystanders clapped and cheered, and the entire emotional event was captured on camera.
That was on May 29, 2008. Two year later, Paul and Naomi will fulfill this promise of unconditional love. The years they have spent together (almost a decade!) have made them realize that they are each other's best friends, and that the next step in their lives will be one that they take together as a married couple. What makes this an even happier occasion is that they will be joined by their friends and family.

KENT
We ate dry wall together when we were younger. This guy enjoyed it more than I did. He has supported me throughout my life, and is always there to help me. He's the most organized guy I've seen.
PEI-WAN
Slumsh. This girl has been a good friend for 12 years. She is creative, sarcastic, and always makes me laugh. She has good fashion sense (picked out my dress!). Also makes me amazing cheesecakes.
EMILY
I've known Emily since 7th grade. She's always been there, in blizzards when we went clubbing, and since the beginning when I met Paul. She is the tannest person I know.
Many thanks to our wonderful members of the bridal party.
They will be there in the planning, details, and whatever chaos it brings.
Hope you guys are ready!

Factually Amusing Questions
If you had to describe each other in only one or two words, what word would you choose?
Paul says, "Passionate."
Naomi says, "Dependable."
Where will you guys be honeymooning?
The happy couple has not decided yet. Some potential spots are: Nile River cruise with sightseeing in Egypt, visiting the Lost filming locations in Hawaii, heading down under to Sydney.
What are your favorite concerts together?
Paul and Naomi have enjoyed going to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, in Vegas, and the small screen. They also loved seeing Keane and No Doubt.
Why did you choose that day?
May 29th is exactly 2 years to the day of the proposal. Two years would give them enough time to do all the small detailed things that Naomi has planned. She has a lot of crafty ideas.
You've been together how long?
They've been dating since they were 16 -- they will have been together for 9 years when they say "I do."
Does your wedding have a theme?
All you need is love. Love is all you need.
What is Paul's secret to success in tennis?
It is all about the wrist. That he's broken.
What is Paul's favorite memory with Naomi?
Staying out all night in NYC because Paul was not allowed to stay overnight in the girl's dorm.
What is Paul's worst habit?
He can speak with an annoying heavy Vietnamese accent on demand.
Why isn't Paul a Celtics or Pats fan?
He is a Lakers fan because of Kobe, and a Packers/Jets/Vikings fan because of Favre. He also enjoys cheering for the team playing opposite of his Dad's.
What is Naomi's favorite NFL team?
Her team is the Carolina Panthers. When she was young she went to the store to pick a jacket, and the Panthers had her favorite color combination (blue and black).
How many of Naomi's paintings does Paul have?
Seven. A ship, a still life with vases, an abstraction of the both of them, Ryu, an abstraction of Lupiter (the arowana fish), a landscape, and another ship.
Besides the proposal, what is the most romantic thing Paul has done?
Paul took Naomi to Arrows in Maine. It is a converted farmhouse with its own gardens. They had an intimate dinner there, then took a walk around York beach.
Is Naomi's MINI faster than Paul's Bimmer?
YES.
Which restaurant do you guys pig out in?
Longhorn all the way. They make an awesome ribeye, it's so affordable, and their service never disappoints.
Which rabbit was your favorite?
They can't play favorites between Mr Rabbit, Mini B, Mrs Mews, and Mews Babews, but if they had to choose one... it would be Softy, aka Mr Rabbit.
